CALGARY, Alberta -- Sean Monahan scored with 2:34 left in overtime Tuesday night to give the Calgary Flames a 4-3 win over the Buffalo Sabres in the Scotiabank Saddledome.Monahan got his second goal of the season, taking a pass from Johnny Gaudreau and beating Robin Lehner to the top corner of the net to cap a wild overtime period that saw Lehner and Calgary goalie Chad Johnson, the former Sabre, both make strong saves.Calgary improved to 1-2-1 on the season while the Sabres fell to 1-1-1.

The Calgary Flames got their first win of the season against the Buffalo Sabres in overtime at the Saddledome Tuesday night, 4-3.The Flames had a wide advantage in shots on goal through the first forty minutes outshooting the Sabres 23-10 but it was Buffalo that took a 2-1 lead into the third period.Zemkus Girgensons opened the scoring for the Sabres as he stood in front of Chad Johnson in the Flames net easily fending off defenceman Jryki Yokipakka.
